Trader Joe’s Butter Chicken is one of those products that has been chugging along for many, many years. It is a perennial favorite among loyal Trader Joe’s fans. I originally reviewed this product all the way back in 2012 and thought it was time to revisit it since it’s still hanging around and Trader Joe’s doesn’t seem inclined to kill it off any time soon. Trader Joe’s has been on a serious Indian food kick for some time as witnessed by the huge amount of Indian food items. I applaud that because I like food from all over the world. Indian food seems to do especially well at Trader Joe’s.

Trader Joe’s Cauliflower Gratin

Sometimes I wish I was a cauliflower farmer. Just look at how many products Trader Joe’s has put cauliflower in these days! It’s crazy. Pizza crust, gnocchi. What’s next, ice cream? This dish is in the fridge section and not to be confused with the cauliflower gratin in the freezer section. Also a very good product, but this one is different, yet similar. I actually like this one better. More cheese and not so mushy.

Trader Joe’s Greens, Beans and Grains. Trader Joe’s does a great job catering to the vegan and vegetarian demographic. Just walk down the food aisles and ponder the plethora of options. This is especially true in the frozen section. Vegetarian pizza, vegan hot dogs, chickenless chicken strips. The list goes on for a long time and vegans every where rejoice at shopping at trader’s. Why not? The prices are good and they have a great selection if prepared foods to cater to vegetarians. For full disclosure, I am not a vegetarian but I do eat a wide variety of food and do enjoy many vegetarian/vegan meals.

As with most of the best vegetarian food at Trader Joe’s, this is in the freezer section with the rest of the vegetarian food. I was intrigued by it because it wasn’t your typical Indian dish but supposedly inspired from West Africa. It contains kale, garbanzo beans and peanuts over couscous. I saw some tomatoes in there too.

Trader Joe’s Speculoos Cookie Butter Ice Cream. I am a little late on this review, but wanted to make sure I got every single Trader Joe’s speculoos product in the blog. God knows we need more speculoos cookie butter products! In fact, I was talking to one the checkers at my local Trader Joe’s the other day and mentioned that no matter how much speculoos flavored products they throw out there, they just can’t keep them on the shelf! It has really taken the world by storm…

I could say I told you all so, but I told you so! Trader Joe’s might as well spin off a new line of stores called the Everything Speculoos stores. I predicted two years ago they would come out with an Ice Cream (Trader Joe’s can send me a check for suggesting it so long ago!). So now we have four different cookie butters in the jar, cookie butter chocolate cups, plain old speculoos cookies and god knows what I missed. Trader Joe’s will continue to capitalize on this phenomenon for the foreseeable future. I think they could easily have two different ice creams. One with the chocolate swirl and the regular one. But why stop there? Cookie butter pumpkin pie! Speculoos Cookie Butter Xmas house kits! Speculoos flavored bagels? Speculoos bars? Speculoos flavored cheese? Cookie butter flavored syrup (to put on your ice cream!)The possibilities are endless!
