Trader Joe’s Candy Cane Coal

Spread the TJ's love

This has to be one of the oddest things I’ve ever seen out of Trader Joe’s in a long time. This one product that left me scratching my head, but at the same time, I just had to try it!

I have two young boys, 7 and 9 and I keep threatening to put coal in their stockings because,  well if you have ever had a 7 and 9 year old boys together in the same house you would know all the bad things they get themselves into. I think they are well deserving of a few lumps of coal this year but I just can’t pull the trigger and give them real coal for all the bad deeds. Instead for all bad girls and boys out there, give them this! Trader Joe’s Candy Cane Coal!

Actually, this is one of those food items ;you have to really try and figure out what to do with it besides eat it out of the box like peanuts. It’s basically little bits of crushed candy canes that are covered in chocolate, but it looks more dark than milk chocolate. The combination is really minty and kind of crunchy, but has the minty, chocolaty counter play going on.

Other than giving these as gifts or sticking them in naughty children’s stockings, what else could you do with this? You could sprinkle them on ice cream or on top of cupcakes or birthday cakes. Maybe even put them in your pancake batter! Hmm… the possibilities are endless!

I’m going to give them a bump in the numbers because of the novel and interesting idea here.

I’m going to rate the Trader Joe’s Candy Cane Coal 8 Bells!
