Trader Joe’s (Giotto’s) Oven Baked Cheese Bites

Trader Joe’s Oven Baked Cheese Bites

I am always interested in anything that Trader Joe’s does with cheese and these Trader Giotto’s Oven Baked Cheese Bites really deliver! This must be a new product (as of January 2017) and I quickly spied it on the shelf in the new product zone. The bright yellow packaging caught my attention right away!

I don’t know if you’ve had or made those crispy Parmesan cheese crisps before. They are pretty easy to make. Just grate some parmesan onto parchment paper and bake at 400 degrees for a couple of minutes until melted and bubbly. Actually really easy, but sometimes we don’t have the time to make them ourselves and that’s where these come in.

Cheese Bites

Since this is a Trader Giotto’s product, that means it’s made somewhere in Italy. I looked at the back and sure enough it is. These aren’t made from Parmesan, but a closely related cheese named Grana Padano. This is another hard cheese that is very similar to Parmesan with similar characteristics and flavors.

You get a little over 2 ounces of cheese bites and they look like little rice crackers, but completely different. They whole family tried them out and my wife went nuts over them and said she could easily eat the whole bag. I completely agree with her! They have a very cheesy, Parmesan flavor and I really liked. My son them just about ate all of them in one sitting. I will be putting them in his lunch bag for school.

These are in no way related to the Trader Joe’s Cheese Wafer, which were an awful product that couldn’t be pulled from the shelves soon enough.

If you are looking for a gluten free, cheese snack these just might be the most perfect snack out there. I am going to rate these Trader Joe’s Giotto’s Oven Baked Cheese Bites 9 Bells! I give it one bell off because there simply aren’t that many in the bag. But still, these are another great product from Trader Joe’s

  1. I’ve been obsessively buying Whisps at Costco for several months. Nice to see a TJ version to become obsessed with. They are great as toppings for soup and salads. A nice pairing is the cheese crisp with a TJ Everything Bagel chip.
