When I first saw these I was like these are just Crab Rangoon without the crab and some Jalapenos. I want to say that I thought that Trader Joe’s actually sold frozen Crab Rangoon at one time in the past but and there they are in my Google search. They’ve had two similar products. Trader Joe’s Crab and Langostino Rangoon about 10 years ago and then they had Trader Joe’s Edamame Rangoon. For some reason, I didn’t review either one. Either way, wontons filled with cream cheese have been a thing for at least a decade.
Who ever came up with the idea of putting cream cheese in a wonton wrapper and deep frying it should be given some type of medal. They are crazy good usually.
These look like the perfect food for the Super Bowl. Buy several boxes and bake them and then just put them in a big pile for everyone to munch on.

Using an Air Fryer made quick work of them. They came out exactly like you wanted them to, crispy on the outside and melty on the inside. They have a bit of a kick from the heat but not too bad. Thai sweet chili sauce helps with that. Really the only thing I have to complain about them is the shape. I would prefer something that is more traditionally shaped like Rangoon or twisted wontons but that is nit picking.
