Trader Joe’s Jingle Jangle Pretzel Twists Review

Trader Joe’s first came out with their Jingle Jangle candy mix several years ago and the world was changed. Ok, I’m kidding but around my house, you would’ve thought Santa Claus had shown up in person to give gifts out to my kids! Jingle Jangle is “A fun mix of fan favorite candy treats” which are mainly dark chocolate covered pretzels, peanut butter cups, fake M&Ms, and chocolate covered popcorn. We loved it so much, we bought multiples. I am not the only one, the large round tins of this go quickly every year.

Trader Joe’s, being Trader Joe’s, knows when they have a hit on their hands. People hoard Jingle Jangle every year and ration it out the rest of the year. As I said they know how popular this product is. So, just like with Cookie Butter or whatever, they come up with version 2 of their smash hit. This time it’s Trader Joe’s Jingle Jangle Pretzel Twists. Trader Joe’s says right on their web page about this “we’ve deconstructed and reconstructed their candy components for a scrumptious new spin on a holiday classic—Trader Joe’s Jingle Jangle Pretzel Twists!”. They basically took all the components of Jingle Jangle and reimagined it in a different form.

They basically blew up all the parts of Jingle Jangle and put them on the outside of a big salty pretzel. The pretzel is covered in a peanut butter candy coating and the “bits” of stuff are glued on to the outside. These are fake M&Ms, bits of Joe’s Joe’s cookie bits. The only thing missing from the original Jingle Jangle mix is the popcorn. I can see why they left it off, trying to glue popcorn to the outside of a pretzel might not really work.

But what we have is an absolutely wonderful deconstructed version of the Jingle Jangle. Every bite has salty, sweet, chocolatey, peanut butter crunchiness in it. The kids absolutely devoured them in short order.

There have been some reports on Reddit about weird smells when you first open the bag containing the pretzels, but I didn’t smell anything. 

Next thing you know they will grind these up and turn them into another Jingle Jangle ice cream, which is also a giant success for them.

My only problem with these is that there are only six of them and some of the stuff comes off with pretzels in shipping and banging around in your bag on the way home. But 90% of the “stuff” still stays on the pretzel.

My Rating

I really enjoyed these pretzels and so did my teenagers. I really liked the juxtaposition of salty and sweet between the peanut butter coating and the chocolate nibs and fake M&Ms. Each one is about 150 calories so don’t sit there and eat the whole box! I am going to give these 8 bells out of 10
