Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Cookie Sticks review – if you’ve been anywhere near an Asian market in the past few years, you’ll see tons of biscuit sticks covered in chocolate called Pocky. Pocky comes in a range of flavors from chocolate to strawberry to macha (green tea). They originated in Japan many, many years ago and slowly took over Asia before heading out to North America and Europe. My kids are crazy about them and every time we go to the Asian market we buy many boxes of them, although now I think you can pretty much find them anywhere, even in Safeway and Albertson’s and of course on Amazon.
As much as we like Pocky, this is about Trader Joe’s Dark Chocolate Cookie sticks (twisted cookie sticks dipped in Belgian Dark Chocolate). I’ll just be honest, these are an exact knock off of Pocky, except the biscuit stick has a slight twist in it and the chocolate is dark and not milk. I expect Trader Joe’s to expand these to a whole host of flavors in the future, maybe Speculoos flavored! Who knows. They have the familiar cookie biscuit crunch covered in chocolate. What’s not to like about these? I am a dark chocolate lover so these are even better for me than the Pocky. The nice thing is that they come in a canister that you pull the top off and can easily reseal it. Pocky just come in a foil bag in a box. Either way they never go stale at my house because the kids eat them faster than I can open boxes.
I am going to give these a 9 Bell rating. These are a slight step up from the Pocky!
