I love me some pretzels that’s for sure. I grew up eating Snyder’s hard pretzels by the box as a kid. Then when I went to college in Germany, we ate a TON of soft pretzels in Munich, especially while drinking beer. Now that I have kids, I am always looking for a decent snack to give them.
I saw these show up in the freezer section at my local Trader Joe’s a couple of weeks ago. I looked at them a couple of times before I decided to pick them up. I hate being disappointed when I pick something up and it sucks when I make it at home.
One thing that had me happy was that I noticed on the back it said “Product of Germany” and you know Germany and pretzels are a match made in heaven!
These things couldn’t be easier to make. Just take them out of the freezer. Spray the tops of them with some water. (I didn’t have a spray bottle with water in it so I just used a basting brush). Sprinkle some of the included salt on the wet areas so it sticks and then put them in a 350 degree oven for about 4 minutes until hot.
Oh boy, I thought I had died and gone to heaven. These were the best pretzels I’ve ever made at home. Makes me want to sit down and with a nice Bavarian Helles Lager and some mustard and savor the moment. I highly recommend them!
