Trader Joe’s Egg Frittata with Swiss cheese and cauliflower. I picked this up on a whim the other day. I love eggs. I love cheese and the picture on the box just about made my mouth water. Anything with eggs, cheese, and bacon is my cup of tea! I am a big breakfast person and love a hearty breakfast. I am also always on the hunt for something that will fill me up and be quick. This seemed to serve both purposes. A quick nuke in the microwave and ready to eat in about a minute. At $2.99 that isn’t too bad.

Trader Joe’s on their website says that these are “Made with a hearty base of 45% egg and 30% Swiss cheese, Trader Joe’s Egg Frittata has a fluffy texture that belies its protein-packed ingredient list. Earthy cauliflower, fried onions, and the aforementioned cheese create the classic, belly-warming breakfast profile: craveably savory and utterly delicious. ”

At 270 calories for the two of the frittatas in the box, that is a decent part of a meal, if you add toast and some yogurt or whatever, but if you put them in a sandwich with bacon and more cheese, well that’s the bomb!

You can see, it just looks like eggs. You can see cheese or cauliflower. When you eat them, they are fluffy and light on the tongue. You can immediately taste the cheese and onions and of course the eggs. But I do not taste or see any cauliflower.

I’m sure it’s in there, but it must be mushed up so much that it is just part of the mix. The outside has a nice browned appearance like they had been baked in an oven, which I am sure they were before they were frozen. I will definitely be buying these again for a nice big Sunday breakfast. You could buy several boxes and put them out for your holiday brunch and nobody would think bad about you, they are that good!
