Trader Joe’s Multigrain Toaster Waffle Review – Before we had children, my yearly consumption of toaster waffles was nil. Now that we have two growing boys, they can’t seem to get enough of them for breakfast and I’m always looking for something quick to make in the morning before we head out to the school bus. Together with something with some protein (Trader Joe’s usually has a great selection of eggs for all budgets), that is usually enough for my 7 and 9 year old boys for the morning.
When I first started going to Trader Joe’s they carried Van’s waffles in an assortment of flavors, then mysteriously as these things happen at Trader Joe’s, they were replaced with a Trader Joe’s branded waffle selection. I’ve read some about how Trader Joe’s get’s these major manufacturers to make food for them but labeled as Trader Joe’s. Saves everyone money and the original manufacturer does quite well under this arrangement and we all save money! I’m only suggesting that this is the case here. I do not know this for a fact, but they sure look a lot like Van’s Multigrain Toaster Waffles to me!
OK, on to the waffles! There is really only one way to make these and that is in the toaster! I supposed you could microwave them if you were in a hurry, but toasting them gives them a nice crunchy exterior that is quite appealing! I love serving them with Trader Joe’s brand organic maple syrup! Grade B for me! These have a great waffle flavor and my kids don’t balk at the fact that they are “multigrain”. These aren’t a very complex food item so I will keep this short. If you are looking for a fast, quick and nutritious breakfast item, then these might be your choice!
I am going to rate these 8 Bells! Get them while they are hot!
